Notes from the aromatherapist:
There have been numerous studies showing that people’s attention spans are getting shorter and shorter, generally agreed at about 10-15 minutes, thanks to all the distractions people face all day long through email, texts, and social media. On top of that, people are becoming busier and feeling more pressure to complete their work and at a faster pace due to the advancement of technology. With their private lives more exposed, endless information flowing in from the media, and keeping up with the fast-paced world, it’s hard not to feel overwhelmed on a daily basis. Lemon essential oils, with uplifting qualities, and lemongrass essential oils, with sedative activities, combined with eucalyptus and camphor oils, creates a magical balance of energizing yet soothing aroma to turn on the reset button while working or studying.

SIPS + MAKER was established in 2017 by Estera P. Alvarado. After 12+ years in the interior design and furniture industry, Estera was inspired to fulfill her dream of a joint coffee bar and specialty shop.
She designed a space that she believed Staten Island would embrace. Her love of travel, art and design were a driving force in the creation of SIPS + MAKER.
A gathering place for the community and supporting artisans became her passion.
